Mega Cheese Fest Hits Dubai
U.S. Dairy Export Council
US cheese proves its competitiveness as an artisanal cheese producer.
As part of the 2019 edition of the Dubai Food Festival, the largest cheese event of its kind in the Middle East was held in Dubai’s Westin Mina Siyahi from February 22 – 23, 2019.
USDEC took part in this huge event, featuring high-end US cheeses presented by US cheese experts who actively promoted the features and value of US cheeses, ways of enjoying and pairing it, as well as its heritage and competitiveness among the artisanal cheese world. They captivated visitors with the wide amount of information provided, showcasing a wide range of US artisanal cheeses that were flown in from the USA especially for this event.
More than 3,000 cheese fans passed by the US booth, listened to our cheese experts, and tasted the different cheeses offered. Many visitors expressed that they did not have the knowledge that the US produces out-of-this-world types of cheese!
In addition to the continuous tastings and demonstrations, two different activities: blind tasting and wine and beer pairing were carried. Five blind tasting sessions took place. During these sessions, customers had to guess four varieties of U.S. cheeses to win a prize of…you guessed it – more cheese!
USDEC’s participation in this activity placed US artisanal and specialty cheeses on the radar of many chefs and retailers who expressed interested in the varieties offered. Participating in the Dubai Cheese Fest was another fruitful USDEC marketing activity which surpassed expectations. The optimistic feedback received throughout the activity from the guests, chefs and cheese experts proves how much valued was the event.
