Emirates International Salon Culinaire

U.S. Meat Export Federation

In collaboration with the Texas Beef Council (TBC), the U.S. Meat Export Federation (USMEF) sponsored two classes at the Emirates International Salon Culinaire on March 3, 4, and 5, 2020. These are Five Course Gourmet - Dinner Menu by USMEF and Beef Practical Cookery by USMEF. The two classes were held throughout the 3 days competition and gathered 142 participating chefs from different hotels in the UAE as well as an International group from Sri Lanka, India and Pakistan. A team of international judges, approved by The World Association of Chef’s societies (WACS), adjudicated all classes based on specific regulations and criteria and apportioned their marks. Following the judging of each plate, a debriefing session was held where expert chefs provided their feedback and comments about every prepared dish, thus providing chefs the opportunity to enhance their skills and abilities. Chefs reaching the best possible standards were awarded with gold, silver and bronze medals in addition to certificates of merit.
