Two USA Pears mall tours took place in the United Arab Emirates this season on February 23rd and March 16th at the Ibn Battuta and Dragon Mart malls respectively. The USA Pears branded stages were adjacent to the supermarkets located in those malls, so as to drive footfall into the supermarkets and to directly boost USA Pear purchases. Those two large shopping malls attract thousands of shoppers every day, and both mall tours occurred at peak times starting 3 pm and up until 10 pm.
More than 2,000 people in each of the Ibn Battuta mall in Jebel Ali and the Dragon Mart mall passed by the USA Pears themed corner, including parents, younger adults and children of all ages. This makes malls rather unique in terms of the wide target audience that can be reached in such multi-purpose complexes. As soon as the emcee started speaking up about the planned activities and games and inviting people to join, crowds stopped to check out the occasion. Kids were especially delighted to have the opportunity to take a picture and to dance to the music with the USA Pears mascot and to witness the balloon twisting artist in action. The nutritionist was around the stand giving out health and nutrition tips to the people stopping by, especially the parents, who were seen going in the mall supermarket to purchase USA Pears. The demonstrators made sure to offer all of the shoppers and children stopping by the USA Pears space Green Anjou pears to taste. Consumers were pleased with the juiciness and taste of USA Pears and were especially excited to see their children eat and learn about the health benefits of USA pears. POS materials were also handed out to the older audience, as take-home messages about USA Pears.
